North Richmond Community Health (NRCH) is committed to making healthcare more accessible and culturally relevant. With the recent addition of Victoria’s first Medically Supervised Injecting Room, NRCH is dedicated to combating stigma and discrimination experienced by people who use drugs, and improving their quality of life.
NRCH provides a range of medical, allied health, dental and community services to clients from all backgrounds. We also provide specialist health services in other parts of Victoria, and work with health, government and community services around the country.
The Harm Reduction Practitioner position is responsible for supervising clients before, during and after episodes of injecting. The position aims to optimise health by saving lives and reducing injury from the negative effects associated with drug use. Core activities include client engagement, working with complex and challenging behaviours, health assessment, management of health emergencies, health education, brief interventions and referral to other health and welfare services. This position is part of the MSIR Harm reduction team and works closely with the Nursing team.
This position is accountable to and works under the general direction and guidance of the Harm Reduction Practitioner Team Leader, the shift direction and guidance of the Nurse in Charge and receives guidance, support and direction from the MSIR Management team.

We are looking for people who are available to work on week days only. The shifts we have available are from 6.30am to 2.30pm, 9.00am to 5.00pm and 1.30pm to 9.30pm.
