The primary purpose of the Accountant role (1.0 EFT full Time fixed-term) is to support the Finance Controller in the delivery of accurate, timely and reliable financial information for the organisation.

Working closely with internal stakeholders including the Executive, Management and Operational staff, the opportunity exists to be an effective and insightful business partner that assists in the provision of the organisation’s services to clients.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Bank/Cash reconciliations/Accounts Payable/ Accounts receivable functions
  • Fixed-Asset register maintenance/ Stock control and stocktake management/Procurement and Supply Chain support
  • Journal processing, Accrual management/ Monthly trial balance reconciliations
  • Attestation and Budgeting support /Year-end planning and support
  • Business partner support together with Finance controller/ Systems Implementation and testing
  • Support provision of monthly reports to the Executive on progress of strategy
  • Support management on driving business efficiencies by identifying opportunities for business system improvements

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential qualifications, attributes and skills include, but are not limited to:

  • University degree and/or CPA/CA qualification with at least 3 years in Financial roles
  • Demonstrated experience in operational management support
  • Demonstrated experience in budgetary & financial management collaboration and support
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and continuous improvement delivery.
  • Exposure to management reporting, financial reporting and audit collaboration.
  • Experience with financial management, systems, quality and accreditation processes.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with high-level written skills
  • Experience with change in software implementation/ Experience with MicrOpay, Landmark or another ERP’s/ Advance level Excel and MS Office skills
