Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Council was founded and is still led, governed and directed by women from the NPY region. It was created to give a voice to women across 26 desert communities in the cross-border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Today, we continue to provide progressive, innovative and evidence based work in service delivery, advocacy and support.

NPY Women’s Council are now recruiting for a Child Nutrition Development Officer in the Child and Family Wellbeing Service (CFWS). This position is based remotely in Umuwa (APY Lands), providing nutrition services to Pukatja, Fregon, Mimili and Indulkana. You will work collaboratively within the Child Nutrition Program to support families with children aged 0-5 years, especially those experiencing growth faltering.

As a Child Nutrition Development Officer you will work across a wide range of tasks including:

  • Complex Case Management
  • Community Education
  • Capacity building and collaboration across community services
  • Working with stores around nutrition health initiatives

You will have a background and qualifications in Nutrition, Community Development or Health Science and have experience in managing a complex caseload. Working with remote Indigenous communities or vulnerable minority groups is desirable.

We are looking for someone who is a team player, resilient and who is passionate about working alongside Anangu. In addition, the right person will be comfortable living in a remote environment and is able to be flexible in a changing environment. The position is based in Umuwa (SA), but also provides nutrition services to Fregon, Mimili and Indulkana communities.
