The Tjungu team provides support, advocacy and case management to ngaltutjara tjuta – people with disabilities, elderly people, and their carers & families. Tjungu philosophy and principles support the rights of older people and people with disabilities to live in their community so that family and relationships, as well as spiritual and physical connections with country, can be maintained.

We are now recruiting for a fixed term Aged Care Project Officer to join the Tjungu Team. This role is fixed term until 30th June, 2021.

This role works in APY Lands (SA) but forms part of the Tjungu Team’s aged and disability work across the tri-state region. In this role, you will support and advocate for aged Anangu people living on the lands. You will collaborate with other NPY Women’s Council services and external organisations through project, community development and advocacy work to enable aged and frail Anangu to maintain quality of life while continuing to live in their traditional country.

The ideal person will have professional experience in Community Development, Health or Disability, and are passionate about working alongside Anangu. We are looking for someone with an understanding of current issues relating to aged and frail people, who is comfortable working in cross-cultural environments.

You will receive an above award salary, additional superannuation, salary packaging benefits, 5 weeks of annual leave, 3 weeks of personal leave (to care for you and your family) and a retention bonus. We also provide use of a company vehicle when travelling remotely along with travel allowance.
