What you’ll be doing

This role will lead the development of content for the Value in Prescribing Biological Disease-Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drugs (bDMARDs) program.

Medical writing skills will be essential for researching and writing evidence-based program content, whilst making sure that program messages and content match our audience needs (health professionals and consumers). Strong clinical and communication skills are also important to engage with clinical experts to ensure the interventions and resources developed deliver high quality clinical education and practice support.

What you will need

  • A minimum of three years of experience as a medical writer.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a science or health-related field.
  • Demonstrated skills in synthesising health related information with in depth understanding of evidence-based medicine and an ability to interpret clinical study results.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to discuss the evidence about medicines and therapeutics relating to draft publications with clinical experts.
  • Previous experience writing online continuing education content for primary health care professionals.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated capability to search the medical and pharmaceutical literature rigorously using common databases and best-practice methods.

Desirable

  • Understanding of quality use of medicines and health technologies in Australia.
  • Knowledge of bDMARDs and other targeted therapies use in Australia.
  • Experience in commercial, government or not for profit sectors.
  • Clinical background in medicine, pharmacy, nursing or allied health profession.
  • Previous experience working with agile methodologies.
