No to Violence is Australia’s largest peak body for services and individuals that work with men who use family violence. No to Violence operates the national Men’s Referral Service, the national Brief Intervention Services and the Victorian based Perpetrator Accommodation Support Service, free, confidential counselling, referral and support services.

About the role

We are looking for Social Work Graduates (or graduates in a related field) to join the Men’s Referral Service (MRS) with a start date of mid-January 2022.

The Men’s Referral Service provide multiple services and programs which will provide you with the opportunity to move between programs to gain new skills and experiences. We work primarily with men who are using or have used family violence; however, we also work with family members, third parties or professionals to support whole of family safety. These services include:

• In-bound telephone and online counselling services
• Single session and multiple session counselling programs
• Out-bound telephone counselling in response to formal police referrals

These roles operate on rotating roster, spanning 7 days per week (Mon – Fri 8am – 9pm and Sat & Sun 9am - 6pm).

About the 2022 Graduate Program

This role is part of the 2022 Family Violence and Sexual Assault Graduate Program. The Program provides a dedicated pathway for new and recent graduates into the family violence, sexual assault and primary prevention sectors, supporting graduates to gain practical skills and knowledge while also receiving additional training and development support.

In addition to state-wide learning and networking opportunities, graduates are supported by a dedicated Learning and Development Facilitator and have access to learning and development opportunities with other graduates throughout the year. This includes an induction session at the commencement of the Program and monthly community of practice sessions. Graduates also have access to a funding allocation to support their ongoing learning and development over a 12-month period.

To meet the eligibility requirements for the 2022 Family Violence and Sexual Assault Graduate Program, graduates must have completed all course requirements (or will do so before commencing in the Program) or have completed their qualifications within the last two years.

If you are relocating for the Program, you may also be eligible for a $1,500 contribution towards costs associated with your relocation.

Mandatory Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work or related field.
• Specialist family violence knowledge and skills is highly desirable.
• A demonstrated understanding of the social and gendered context of family violence and the impact of violence on women and children.
• Demonstrated personal commitment to the practice and principles of non-violence, justice, social inclusion and gender equity issues.
• Commit to working inclusively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTI people and people with disabilities’

Employment with NTV is conditional upon receipt of satisfactory references, proof of legal entitlement to work in Australia, a Police records check (including an International Police check where required) and a Working with Children Check.

NTV follow Victorian state government restrictions and vaccination protocols, therefore you will be required to provide proof of covid vaccination as part of pre-employment screening.
