No to Violence is Australia’s largest peak body for services and individuals that work with men who use family violence. No to Violence operates the national Men’s Referral Service, the national Brief Intervention Services and the Victorian based Perpetrator Accommodation Support Service, free, confidential counselling, referral and support services.

About the role

We are seeking a driven Communications and Media Manager to design and implement a program of work to raise and strengthen the profile of No to Violence to prevent and respond to family and intimate partner violence.

The role will entail:

  • Managing communication and media initiatives
  • Provide expert communication and media direction to the organisation
  • Contribute strategic advice on crisis issues and high-profile matters
  • Positively position the organisation amongst key stakeholders
  • Provide reports providing key insights
  • Provide robust leadership and guidance to the Communications and Media team

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, or public relations
  • 7 years’ relevant experience, ideally within the public or community sector
  • Experience in team leadership and development
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Extraordinary written communication skills displaying accuracy and creativity
  • Understanding of family and gender based violence
