North West Disability Services has met the requirements of the National Disability Insurance Scheme in a way that is the envy of the sector.

With the growth in our Secret Garden Café role we are looking to appoint a suitable person to the role of Café Supervisor, Tuesday to Saturday. This will be 30 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday 9am to 3pm and Saturday 9am to 3pm. The role will take into consideration that the café is also a developmental program space for people with a disability and we hope as COVID diminishes we are able to bring more people back into the café to build their skills.

NWDS fully implements and advocates for the application of the Disability Inclusion Act 2014 and the Disability Services Standards and complies with Local, State and Commonwealth Government requirements so that you can work with  NWDS confident that your contribution is both valuable and professional. 

Essential Criteria

• 1st Aid Certificate maintained up to date.
• Current manual LR Licence and ability to pass ongoing assessment of LR licence.
• Commitment to Equal Employment Opportunities.
• Commitment to on-going training
• Certificate III in Disability Studies or ability to obtain
• Awareness of Cultural Competence Practices
• Cafe All-rounder Experience
• COVID-19 awareness for food service training certificate

Desirable Criteria

• Experience in working with people with disabilities.
• Knowledge of Disability Inclusion Act 2013 & Disability Service Standards.
• Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or ability to obtain
• Statement of attainment in in Barista Skills or ability to obtain
• Statement of attainment in Hospitality Skills or ability to obtain
