About NBRF

The Noosa Biosphere Reserve Foundation (NBRF) is a not-for-profit organisation established by the Noosa Shire Council to identify and action ‘big ideas’ aligned with the aims of the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Program.

Our role is to manage a charitable trust to support projects and ideas that enhance biodiversity conservation and promote sustainable living in Noosa. Run by a skills-based volunteer board of directors, we set strategic priorities unique to the Noosa Biosphere Reserve, enabling science-based projects that meet certain criteria.

About the Role

The Project Officers role will be to plan and manage specific NBRF ‘Big Idea’ projects from planning through to completion, including the effective management and execution of approved projects ensuring that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and budget, and accurate reporting to Board members and stakeholders.

About You

You will preferably hold the following experience, skills and qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing projects
  • Experience in drafting project plans including scope, schedule, budget and risk assessment
  • Demonstrated experience in budget and financial management
  • Ability to provide information regarding tasks, plans, schedule, strategies and org structure to stakeholders in both written and verbal formats
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work to deadlines
  • Can make timely decisions based on facts, circumstances, and needs
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge of appropriate project management methods and tools (e.g. predictive ‘plan-driven’ or adaptive ‘iterative/agile’ approaches.
  • Knowledge of relevant project funding procedures and guidelines
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Project Management or relevant discipline

This role would ideally suit someone based within the Noosa or Sunshine Coast region. Applicants who are able to work remotely will also be considered.
