North Melbourne Language & Learning Inc. (NMLL) works with a diverse and dynamic community on the North Melbourne public housing estate and surrounding neighbourhoods, delivering learning opportunities and community development programs for adult learners from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds with an emphasis on building stronger communities.

NMLL is recruiting for a range of volunteer roles. Please refer to other Ethical Jobs Advertisements or the NMLL webpage directly for all volunteer roles available.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and open-minded volunteer to work with the Community Development team to support the planning and delivery of Community Development activities. Tasks will include:

• Supporting CD activities including community meetings, community consultations, community information sessions and intercultural exchange workshops and training sessions.
• Supporting the CD team to engage with the community on a regular basis.
• Preparing a range of marketing and promotion materials that will be distributed to NMLL networks and local community members as well as engaging media outlets and implementing social marketing strategies.
• Desirable skills includes grant writing and research skills to seek funding opportunities that support the ongoing development of Community Development programs at NMLL.

Event / Program Support volunteers will commit to volunteer for 3-6 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months, commencing in mid-late January 2022. Longer term volunteer availability will be looked-upon favourably.
