Inner East Primary Care Partnership (IEPCP) is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services, and reports to a Board comprised of leadership representatives from partner organisations. The Inner East Primary Care Partnership, based in Box Hill, is seeking a dynamic and experienced public health professional to join our team and support our diverse prevention work with government’s, academics, health and community sector partners across the Inner East of Melbourne – until 30 June 2021.

The Primary Prevention Coordinator will support collaboration and develop resources to improve health and wellbeing across the priorities of:

  • Prevention of Men’s Violence Against Women
  • Women’s Health and Social Inclusion
  • Gender Equity
  • Alcohol Harm minimisation
  • Mental health promotion
  • Social Marketing

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health promotion or public health
  • Minimum four years’ experience working in health promotion, preferably in a community/public sector setting (mandatory)

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Experience in developing, leading and coordinating effective collaborative partnerships with groups of professionals, and ability to work across a range of organisations and levels including Local Government, Community Health, and the Community sector.
  2. Demonstrated application of contemporary theory and evidence based practice in population health planning, program implementation - particularly in place-based settings, and evaluating health promotion strategies - including through a collective impact approach, and an understanding of the current Victorian policy context.
  3. High level communication skills, and experience in leading health promotion capacity building, including supporting tertiary students, and supporting the development of evidence based practice and codesign.
  4. Ability to work with autonomy, as well as part of a dynamic team
  5. Excellent organisational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple projects.

The position reports directly to the IEPCP Executive Officer. Salary is in accordance with the Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Officers Award, dependent on the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience.
