Nillumbik Community Health Service Pty Ltd (NCHS), operating as Carrington Health and healthAbility, has over 300 staff and an annual operating income of over $25m. We offer wide ranging, locally delivered community healthcare services in the North Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, with major hubs in Box Hill and Eltham. We are seeking 12 month parental leave coverage in this exciting role, during a period of dynamic change and growth.

The Role

The Manager Health Promotion has primary responsibility for the operational management of Integrated Health Promotion (IHP) planning, action and reporting. This includes management of IHP at both Eltham and Box Hill sites and leading the development and delivery of primary prevention strategies in the local community that are underpinned by a Social Determinants of Health framework.

A key focus of the role is working collaboratively with regional partners across the North East and Inner East of Melbourne to achieve collective, strategic and sustainable health promotion action and outcomes across communities and settings. This role will provide strategic support across all priorities in the region and has the direct, on the ground, responsibility for the delivery of the healthy eating and drinking priority across Nillumbik. 

The Candidate

We are seeking: 

  • A qualification in health promotion, public health, community development, allied health or equivalent is essential 
  • Demonstrable experience in leadership, autonomy, teamwork, and collaboration with partners, community and a broad range of stakeholders
  • Expertise and leadership in developing innovative, creative and contemporary primary prevention strategies that drive sustainable outcomes for our local community
  • Ability to initiate, maintain and nurture a range of collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders which are vital in all our work
  • Experience in current, contemporary and creative primary health promotion initiatives and place-based approaches is also essential
