Ngwala Willumbong Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that is dedicated to delivering quality specialist Alcohol and Drug Treatment, Housing and Homeless, Residential Rehabilitation Support as well as other services to meet the needs of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander People and their families. Our services operate across Victoria.

About the Job

You will provide high quality care and support for our female clients and their significant others who are affected by alcohol and AOD misuse, during their stay at Winja Ulupna, the Women's Residential Rehabilitation Centre in St Kilda.

Your typical day will include tasks such as advocating on behalf of clients in relation to AOD support services, facilitate rehabilitation programs, perform accurate and up to date administrative tasks as well as provide emotional support to clients.

We have one full-time maternity leave cover position available where you will work either day shift or afternoon shift, with some possible night shifts or weekends on occasion.

About the Pay

  • Annual Salary of $57,500 – $62,700 (depending on experience) + Super
  • NFP Salary Packaging Benefits up to $15,900
  • Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 2

About You

  • Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous history and/or culture and commitment to the Indigenous community
  • Understanding of the issues associated with AOD and their effects on the Aboriginal Community
  • A relevant tertiary qualification such as Certificate IV or Diploma in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD)
  • Previous experience working in the AOD support space
  • Able to develop positive relationships with vulnerable clients and work within a stressful environment
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander People are STRONGLY encouraged to apply
