The Organisation

The Front Project TFP is an independent, national enterprise addressing disadvantage and improving outcomes for children and society by realising the benefits of quality early childhood education. TFP works collaboratively to improve early education access, experiences and outcomes for children and families across Australia. TFP believes improving the quality of the early childhood education system will address disadvantage and give all children the opportunity to thrive building a smarter and more successful Australia.

The TFP, a systems change organisation, is currently embarking on its second scale-up phase including the establishment of an early learning Think+Do Tank, integrating input from children and families into policy development, as well as two workforce initiatives, The Upskill Program and The Online Community requiring evidence based, beneficiary informed communications driving impact and philanthropic engagement.

The Role

As a member of the senior leadership team and working broadly across the organisation you will lead the development and implementation of communications plans, ensuring advocacy and campaigns are strategic, evidence-based, effective, engaging and crucially, driving measurable change in the early childhood education and care system.

Managing a small team you will work with media and campaign consultants as well as stakeholders across media, Government, early learning providers, universities and business leaders. The immediate priorities for the role will be;

  • The launch of two innovative pieces of research on child disadvantage & early education market stewardship.
  • The 2022 federal election
  • The launch of the Think+Do Tank and growth of the work force initiatives.

Skills Required

Social change focused with a drive to create a fairer, more inclusive and better-educated Australia you have significant media, communications, campaign or public relations experience developed in education, politics, the media, NGO sector or like-minded corporates.

You have an in-depth demonstrated understanding of the media with a large portfolio of placed stories, excellent writing and liaison skills and a strong network of media contacts. Ideally, your experience includes;

  • Advocacy campaigns and an understanding of the political environment
  • Strategic communications research and polling projects
  • Media and stakeholder management experience
  • Developed decision making skills and political judgment
  • The ability to work under high pressure and juggle competing demands
