The Organisation

3Bridges is a vibrant and progressive southern Sydney based community organisation providing families and individuals care management, crisis intervention, counselling, childcare and other support services. 3Bridges works with the most disadvantaged, from the very young to the frail aged, relieving suffering, distress, misfortune, destitution or helplessness.

3Bridges allied health services including occupational therapy and exercise physiology help maintain safety and independence through home assessments to assist with daily activities and safety through equipment, home modifications and task adaptation.
The home modifications and maintenance team keep clients living safely and independently with a team of qualified tradespeople, working with occupational therapists to design the most appropriate home modification solution including minor and major home modifications.

The Role

In this role you will support the occupational therapist team of three to provide direct service delivery to NDIS participants, Home Care Package and Commonwealth Home Support Program clients to achieve their capacity building goals through assessment and interventions tailored to suit individual needs.

The role will carry its own case load whilst providing clinical supervision and day to day support to the wider team. You will lead the training and development of new graduates acting as a pillar for professional development and enhancing the practices, procedures, and protocols within the allied health team.

Skills Required

You are five years post graduate experience working with people living with a disability and older persons living independently in the community. A degree in applied science in occupational therapy would be a given for this role as would registration with AHPRA.

Apart from your passion for working with individuals living with a disability and older persons you have a strong understanding of the impacts of ageing and mental wellbeing throughout life stages on physical wellbeing. You have the ability to engage and motivate clients and your team to navigate contexts such as intellectual disability or brain injury to participate in goal planning.

You are an excellent multi-tasker, results-oriented, persistent but realistic and possess how-to thinking to deliver long-term projects. You will require a valid working with children check, an NDIS Worker Screening Check and a criminal history clearance.
