The Organisation

ActionAid Australia is a global women’s rights organisation that empowers women on the frontlines of injustice to mobilise and transform their communities. ActionAid works in more than 45 countries.

The Arise Fund was established to resource the ActionAid Federation’s vision to advance women’s rights and leadership in emergencies. It is a core part of ActionAid Australia’s (AAA) high value fundraising program and is important in growing philanthropic and corporate partnerships.

The Role

Reporting to the Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager and working closely with the Executive Director, you will lead the development and execution of partnership strategies to increase giving from corporates, high net worth individuals, private foundations and other funding bodies. Stewardship is a key part of the role as well as the development and implementation of ethical fundraising strategies to reach organisational goals.

You will be responsible for:

• Building relationships with donors, prospects and board members including direct solicitation
• Ensuring a rigorous donor management process is in place, including monitoring of targets
• Supporting senior executives in development and management of key relationships
• Creating proposals and communications using a range of channels and technologies
• Collaborating to build a successful program and meeting budgets

Skills Required

You have experience in philanthropy, fundraising or business development and have a growth mindset. You may also have transferable skills coming from sales or account management with an interest in women’s rights and social justice or have studied a related subject. You possess excellent oral and written skills, enjoy building relationships and are motivated by achieving outcomes and KPIs.

You have experience in:

• Building long term high value partnerships through a variety of engagement strategies
• Asking for and securing significant donations, partnerships or sponsorships
• Researching and identifying new prospects and developing strong pipelines
• Working with cross-functional teams, budget management and reporting
