Black Swan State Theatre Company of WA presents entertaining theatre that is motivated and inspired by contemporary social issues. Black Swan has earned both critical and popular acclaim for its highly distinctive reinterpretations of international theatre classics – all of which are infused with the unique culture of Western Australia.

As they continue to grow, they will also focus on developing artists and telling stories that inform and engage communities, regionally, nationally and internationally.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Business Development you will focus primarily on managing and growing Black Swan’s private giving program. You will develop a philanthropic culture internally and provide strategic advice in relation to the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors. Specifically you will:

  • Acquire new donors and transition existing donors to higher value giving relationships
  • Develop relationships that engage and inspire donors to give – long term
  • Manager giving circle activity including renewals and stewardship
  • Organise and deliver a high quality donor events program
  • Develop key messages and craft philanthropic specific content
  • Ensure effective budgeting and report on financial and KPI progress

Skills Required

To be successful in this position you will enjoy developing relationships and working to targets independently. Your experience will come from a similar fundraising or commercial position where you have a track record of raising significant income. Or it may come from a corporate or grant making foundation.

You will be personally mature, able to lead your portfolio with confidence. As a sophisticated communicator you engage high-level stakeholders and deliver a superb experience to clients/donors.

A strong interest in or connection to the Arts is highly desirable.
