The Organisation

Women’s Legal Service Queensland (WLSQ) is a not for profit, specialist community legal centre providing free legal and social support services to women in the areas of family law, domestic violence, child protection, financial abuse and some areas of sexual assault. The service is committed to the creation of a society in which every woman is safe from violence, heard and respected, and receives a fair and just outcome from legal and social welfare systems.

The Role

You will liaise and work closely with WLSQ’s external IT provider to ensure the functionality, efficiency and smooth running of the organisation’s information technology systems and networks across four sites. Specifically you will:

  • Provide timely and high quality support to staff and volunteers with all technical matters
  • Troubleshoot IT software/hardware issues outside the scope of the external IT provider
  • Provide on-boarding, induction and general systems and technical training
  • Develop and maintain an IT and telecommunications asset and contracts register
  • Maintain IT, data protection and privacy related policies
  • Project manage IT related projects including upskilling staff

Skills Required

You have experience in a corporate or not for profit IT support position and you bring a professional, approachable, proactive working style with strong project management and administrative ability. You are skilled in communicating and presenting technical information clearly and succinctly to both technical and non- technical audiences, you have a strong service mentality and you’re able to demonstrate:

  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, email and web based applications
  • Expertise setting up/maintaining computer, printer, scanner, peripheral and mobile devices
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint, online information systems and workflow technologies
  • Ability to research, troubleshoot, problem solve and identify IT solutions
  • Ability to prioritise competing deadlines and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes
  • Experience developing documentation and training materials to support technology use
  • IT project delivery with clear stakeholder communication, consultation and training
  • Ability to work confidentially, with high level tact, diplomacy and commitment to WLSQ’s mission and values
