The Organisation

Skin Cancer College Australasia (SCCA) is an independent, not-for-profit, member based organisation and the peak body representing and supporting more than 1,000 primary care skin cancer medical professionals in both Australia and New Zealand.

SCCA provides general practitioners, skin cancer doctors and nurses with direct access to the latest knowledge and practical skills to improve the identification and treatment of skin cancer. SCCA is committed to the professional development of its members and the delivery of skin cancer education, advocacy, research and standards.

The Role

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will be an integral member of a small team, responsible for the coordination of an annual calendar of courses and events that supports the work of SCCA.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Venue selection, contract negotiation and liaison with venue staff
  • Event design, coordination, logistics support evaluation and reporting
  • Sponsor management and liaison
  • Estimating the costs and revenue profit analysis in all venue proposals

Skills Required

You have experience successfully coordinating and supporting conferences, professional or educational events. You are a self-starter who demonstrates initiative, adaptability and excellent attention to detail. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will ensure you can work productively with a diverse range of stakeholders and you’re able to demonstrate:

  • Detailed understanding of event orders and event design
  • Experience and confidence liaising with external contractors and suppliers
  • Experience building successful ongoing relationships with sponsors
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work varied hours to support events
