The Organisation

FOUR PAWS is the global animal welfare organisation for animals under direct human influence, which reveals suffering, rescues animals in need and protects them.

With the vision of a world where people treat animals with respect, empathy and understanding, FOUR PAWS’ programs and campaigns focus on stray dogs and cats, companion animals, farm animals, wild animals kept in inappropriate conditions, and animals affected by disasters and conflicts. FOUR PAWS provides a safe home for rescued big cats, bears, orangutans and elephants in sanctuaries around the world. FOUR PAWS Australia collaborates globally as part of a supportive International team and has a committed Australian board and Sydney based staff.

The Role

Reporting to the International Chief Development Officer in Vienna, you will lead and direct the Australian operation to achieve its goals as part of the global organisation. You will nurture the team to ensure that the organisation, fundraising and communication plans are developed, implemented and monitored.

You will liaise with donors, stakeholder organisations, service providers, government authorities and media, as well as manage finances, legal, governance, administration and communications with the Management Team.

Specifically you will:

  • Oversee the day to day operations and lead the Management Team
  • Increase market penetration and fundraising revenue with a focus on individual giving
  • Lead and motivate the Fundraising and Supporter Relations Teams
  • Be part of, and contribute to the global Senior Leadership Team

Skills Required

You have senior experience in a like-minded progressive organisation including the responsibility for fundraising, especially in database driven direct marketing and telemarketing.

You possess a strong understanding of leadership, operations and communications, are a strategic thinker and politically astute with drive and initiative.
