The Mental Health Coordinating Council (MHCC) is the peak body for organisations providing community mental health services throughout NSW.

For nearly 40 years, they have worked to build the capacity of community organisations to support people on their recovery journeys. They do this by advocating for policy development and legislative reform and also by offering responsive and flexible mental health training and professional development opportunities.

Working closely with their members, consumers, carers and other stakeholders, MHCC represent the views of the mental health sector to the government and broader human services sector.

The Role

Reporting to the Communications Team Leader, this role is a valued member of the Communications and Advocacy team. You will have the know-how, passion and commitment to create engaging content to build the profile of the organisation, their members and the health sector. Specifically you will:

  • Deliver regular e-newsletters and e-bulletins to increase community engagement
  • Research, write and support social media and digital channels by producing and posting engaging content
  • Coordinate on-going content planning for promotional and campaign collateral
  • Develop contacts and manage marketing lists across the mental health sector
  • Monitor media for relevant content to create ideas and compelling stories

Skills Required

You will have experience working in marketing or communications roles and be able to create and implement digital content to a wide audience. Additionally, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrated skills in content creation, SEO and CRM systems
  • A high standard of written and spoken English
  • Familiar with social media, google analytics and multimedia production
  • An understanding of, or interest in supporting the community mental health sector
