Based in Melbourne, The Association of Australian Medical Research Institutes (AAMRI) is the peak body representing medical research institutes across Australia. Its mission is to achieve positive policy outcomes for its member organisations – and Australian health and medical research more broadly – through advocacy activities, the provision of authoritative advice and information, relationship building, and representing member organisations in areas of shared concern.
This role, which reports directly to the CEO, is responsible for managing the Victorian Chapter of AAMRI. The role will assist the advocacy efforts of Medical Research Institutes to the Victorian Government, and other stakeholders, and lead the development of time sensitive critical government submissions including investment proposals.
The role also enhances collaborations and networking opportunities between medical research institutes in Victoria and assists VicAAMRI reach new levels.
Ideally you will be a self motivated person with education, experience and achievements in medical research and interest in pursuing a career combining policy development, government relations and project management.
Ideally you will also have exemplary relationship building, communication and analytical skills. Advocacy experience would be highly regarded.
