Word Travels trains and hires diverse people to perform their writing for in-person and digital audiences. When the door is open and the mic is on, everyone is a poet.
We create literary and literacy programs for festivals, private companies, libraries, schools and cultural institutions around the Asia Pacific.
You meet, communicate and network with potential donors, sponsors and investors; building a circle of friends, supporters and communities. You update your database; meet with Board members; support the Marketing Manager; develop and launch fundraising strategies; monitor competitor activities and win the hearts of community and corporate movers and shakers.
This is a very diversified and critical role in a unique arts organisation. You will focus on the positive social impact that Word Travels achieves.
Word Travels needs financial support. This role plays a major part in securing that support through the implementation of fundraising and donor strategies. Word Travels also understands that financial support comes with accountabilities and a significant part of this role is relationship management with contributors, donors, sponsors, supporters, staff and community members.
Being a small organisation everyone rolls their sleeves up and assists in whatever capacity at times.
This position reports to the Creative Director/Founder and is supported by the broader Word Travels Team.
