About the Nexus People and Culture Team

You will be part of the team of corporate support staff.  This includes Finance, Clients Services and People and Culture.  These are the services that support operational staff deliver direct support to clients.

The People and Culture Team comprises the following 4 roles: Manager P&C, Senior P&C Advisor, P&C Officer and P&C Training Officer.

The Training Officer Role

Reporting to the Manager People and Culture, the People and Culture Training Officer will develop and deliver quality training to our disability support workers.

Primary Tasks:

  • Continue to enhance and deliver the Nexus Induction Program to all new Team Leaders, Key Workers and Support Workers in liaison with relevant Managers.
  • Coordinate and deliver in-house training for Operations (e.g. team leader & key worker development programs).
  • Provide support to Operational employees in use of the Medes Learning Online Platform.
  • Support the Senior People and Culture Officer in development of and delivery of the annual training plan.
  • Other duties as required.

Selection Criteria

  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment (Desirable).
  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience developing and delivering training programs and learning materials via mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, etc.
  • Relevant industry qualifications and experience (minimum of 2 years) and the ability to draw on same to deliver meaningful training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability in interact proactively with employees at all levels.
  • You need to be fresh and energetic, positive and professional. An ability to work effectively with people of all ages/backgrounds and at all levels to produce positive outcomes. You will spend a lot of time communicating with other team members and employees – so that must be a strength.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how a positive approach to the rights of people with disabilities might affect your work.

Mandatory Employment Checks

Current National Police Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card (Employee Type) and Driver’s License is an essential requirement to work in the above areas of Nexus. Successful candidates will be requested to complete a pre-employment Medical Assessment for their suitability to perform the inherent roll requirements.
