The Quality & Compliance Officer Role

Reporting to the Senior Quality & Compliance Advisor, the Quality & Compliance Officer will support and provide input to the quality management system functions in the context of the National Disability Insurance Scheme’s (NDIS) Quality and Safety Framework. 

Primary Tasks:

  • Participate in conducting internal audits as per the schedule. Compile results and reports for review by the Senior Quality & Compliance Advisor.
  • Oversee and conduct program monthly Quality inspections and follow up as necessary.
  • Oversee the document control register to monitor updates of policies and procedures. Ensure that current versions are available to staff through SharePoint and notification to staff via Yammer, etc.
  • Contribute to and facilitate with shareholders creation of new policies and procedures.
  • Monitor incident reports for quality inputs and escalation where deemed necessary.
  • Monitor internal and external feedback system. Track progress and escalate feedback to relevant stakeholders.

Selection Criteria

  • You need to be fresh and energetic, positive and professional. An ability to work effectively with people of all ages/backgrounds and at all levels to produce positive outcomes.
  • Well-developed organisational and administrative skills (including in a Microsoft Office environment), including strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and control own workload.
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to present information that is understood and contributes to organisational improvement.
  • Demonstrated competence in conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills. This includes experience in research, and policy and program development.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how a positive approach to the rights of people with disabilities might affect your work.
  • A background in compliance-based industries and completion of a unit/s in quality management/work health safety/health service management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how a positive approach to the rights of people with disabilities might affect your work.

Mandatory Employment Checks

Current National Police Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card (Employee Type) and Driver’s License is an essential requirement to work in the above areas of Nexus. Successful candidates will be requested to complete a pre-employment Medical Assessment for their suitability to perform the inherent roll requirements.
