Nexus Inc is a Southern Tasmanian community-based organisation employing over 350 staff who provide support and development opportunities for over 200 people who require physical, social and psychological supports. Nexus is a registered NDIS provider.

About the Nexus Corporate Team

You will be part of the team of corporate support staff.  This includes Finance, Clients Services and People and Culture.  These are the services that support operational staff deliver direct support to clients.

The Assets Officer Role

Reporting to the Manager Finance, the Assets Officer will be expected to apply their knowledge and skill to a wide range of asset management activities to ensure assets are well maintained and repairs and maintenance is delivered in a timely and cost effective manner.

Primary Tasks:

  • The implementation, negotiation and monitoring of asset programs.
  • Maintain and report on a Nexus and client asset register.
  • Work to increase revenue/reduce costs through identified efficiencies and savings.
  • Develop & update a master asset management plan.
  • Analyse property values to forecast for a future estimated value.
  • Assess & manage risks associated with current assets.

Selection Criteria

  • You need to be fresh and energetic, positive and professional. An ability to work effectively with people of all ages/backgrounds and at all levels to produce positive outcomes.
  • Well-developed organisational and administrative skills (including in a Microsoft Office environment), including strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and control own workload. Proficiency with computers and industry-related software.
  • Three + years of successful asset management experience.
  • Ability to function in goal-driven, fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrate abilities in the areas of asset enhancement and financial results.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how a positive approach to the rights of people with disabilities might affect your work.

Mandatory Employment Checks

Current National Police Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card (Employee Type) and Driver’s License is an essential requirement to work in the above areas of Nexus. Successful candidates will be requested to complete a pre-employment Medical Assessment for their suitability to perform the inherent roll requirements.
