We are seeking an experienced Youth Worker to join our team. This is a dynamic and rewarding role for someone who enjoys working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support at risk young people who are experiencing challenges in their lives.

Organisation

North East Community Support Group Inc (NECSG) is a non-profit community-based organisation located in Zillmere auspicing three services: Zillmere Community Centre, Family Accommodation and Youth Support. Our mission is to equip and empower our community to thrive through connections, capacity building, and access to services.

Team

NECSG Youth Support provides information, advice and referral as well as client case management to young people aged 12 to 21 years at risk or experiencing challenges in their lives in the Northeast Brisbane region. NECSG Youth Support works with young people who voluntarily want to access the service to make positive changes in their lives. NECSG Youth Support is funded to support young people at risk of:

• Disconnecting from family, community, or support network;
• Disengaging from school, training or employment;
• Harm, including self-harm;
• Homelessness.

About the Role

The Youth Worker (Case Management) position is a new role in the NECSG Youth Support team.

In this position you will work together with the Youth Support Service Coordinator to provide support to young people aged 12 – 21 years who are clients of the service.

You will primarily provide case managed (longer term) support to young people, as well as providing information, advice and referrals (shorter term) support to young people.

The Youth Worker (Case Management) position is a fixed-term part-time position (up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension). Currently ten (10) hours per week, workdays to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The position is paid at the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services award level 4 with salary sacrifice available. The Youth Worker (Case Management) will report to the Youth Support Service Coordinator and work collaboratively with other staff, students and volunteers at the North East Community Support Group.
