About the Role

  • Part Time (0.9FTE), Maximum term Contract until 30 June 2023
  • Location: Negotiable

The role of the Student Placement Coordinator is to liaise with learning institutions including universities, colleges and TAFEs, in the development of partnerships for the placement of students from a number of disciplines such as Social Work, Dietetics, Public Health, Community Mental Health and a others.

The position is also responsible for supporting staff who are supervising students and creating and maintaining resources for supervisors to ensure they have up-to-date information about student placements. It will be their responsibility to create resources for students to assist them to better understand and perform in their role as a student at Neami. Should any problems arise during student placements, the Student Placement Coordinator is responsible in supporting the resolution of such events. In addition to this, they will also seek to support and identify possible research opportunities within Neami services and build partnerships possible participating universities.

What will you bring to the role?

  • A qualification in a relevant discipline such as community mental health, social work, psychology, or other health or community related discipline; or experience to the same level
  • Experience in the areas of social work, community health/welfare or allied health
  • A demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships in partnership with a range of stakeholders, networking and mutual problem solving
  • Understanding of and sensitivity to the issues relevant to people living with mental ill health and who have complex needs
  • Ability and commitment to work on your own initiative and/or in a team approach
  • Ability to collect and maintain complex records for data collection, reports and recording ongoing communication
  • Ability to manage multiple moving part and maintain positive relationships across all stakeholders involved

Requirements of the role

  • Current Working with Children Check (Bluecard)
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Driver’s licence
  • Police check (refer to PD) – disclosable outcomes considered
