Connect to Wellbeing (C2W) is a Mental Health Intake, Assessment and Triage (North Queensland) - Stepped Care Service, funded from the NQPHN. C2W has offices in Cairns, Townsville and Mackay. The Service Manager is responsible for the establishment and ongoing operational oversight of the service. They will lead a team of workers to deliver an intake, assessment and triage service for individuals in the region who experience mental health issues and are seeking support. The Service Managers of all sites form the Management team for C2W and work collaboratively to ensure consistency and quality of services across North Queensland.

Core duties

  • Work collaboratively with local partners to improve and develop the overall service response to people living with a mental illness
  • Play a key role in service development, including ongoing evaluation and review of service outcomes
  • Initiate, lead and coordinate strategic partnerships to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for individuals in the community
  • Lead, coach and mentor your team

What will you bring to the role?

As the Service Manager, your experience managing a growing team in a rapidly changing environment will be pivotal to your overall success. You will be someone who is able to approach tasks in a calm and logical manner. able to make difficult decisions whilst maintaining a coaching leadership style; building your team member’s capacity, supporting their skill development and growth, helping them become leaders of the future. Other skills we are looking for:

  • Relevant qualification in Mental Health
  • Knowledge of/ or ability to acquire quickly mental health programs in the Mackay/ Cairns Region
  • Ability to form relationships with external organisations
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a team, to meet program goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of/ or ability to acquire quickly complex mental health and drug and alcohol issues in the Mackay / Cairns Region
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to work with individuals from diverse and unique backgrounds
  • Be an honest and transparent individual

Mandatory requirements:

  • Current Working with Children Check – required before commencement of work - Blue Card with Yellow Card Exemption or Blue & Yellow Cards (employee responsibility)
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Drivers licence
  • Police check (refer to PD) – disclosable outcomes considered
  • Relevant Industry registrations
