Operational Support Officer - The Way Back

About the role:

The Operational Support Officer will support the delivery of high-quality services to consumers by ensuring that staff at The Way Back Support Service receive administrative support that is flexible and responsive to their needs.

You will be responsible for carrying out daily operational support including but not limited to:

  • Providing clerical and administrative support to The Way Back team
  • Actioning incoming referrals, including recording on database and establishing files on client management systems
  • Support key data collection activities
  • Ensuring client information records are up to date and accurate
  • Ordering stationery and office supplies
  • Processing invoices
  • Coordinating site maintenance
  • Assisting operational support audit and compliance processes
  • Orienting new site staff to administrative systems
  • Providing basic IT help desk support for service site colleagues
  • Additional duties as required, depending on site needs

What will you bring to the role?

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration or demonstrated in experience in a similar position
  • Experience working in a mental health or social services setting is desirable
  • Advanced abilities with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (including email and internet) and proven experience working in a computerised environment
  • Excellent administration skills with high attention to detail
  • Great customer service skills
  • The ability to plan, organise and analyse tasks
  • Sound written and verbal communications skills
  • The necessary skills to build relationships with team members
  • Proven experience in being able to cope with change and adapt to ambiguous situations

Mandatory requirements:

  • NSW Working with Children check
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Drivers licence
  • Police check (refer to PD) – disclosable outcomes considered
