  • 7-day rotating roster with shifts operating from 1.30pm-10pm

The Penrith Head to Health Centre is a new Neami service located in Penrith, NSW. Penrith Head to Health is recruiting two Registered Nurses, ensuring a minimum of one nurse on shift throughout the walk-in hours of the service. As a Mental Health Registered Nurse, you will form part of the Penrith Head to Health multidisciplinary team responsible for providing clinical leadership and high-quality, person centred care to people accessing the Centre. Based upon the key principles of Clinical Practice, Leadership, Education and Research, the Mental Health Nurse is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team and draws on their knowledge of recovery from mental illness and crisis intervention, to instil confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery.

The service is currently in its establishment phase with a community co-design process already complete, the site selected, and the building fit out currently occurring. The service will be ready to open its doors from the 1st December 2021. This current recruitment round is to establish the inaugural team for this important service.

All positions including the mental health nurse will have the opportunity to work in an identified position and use their lived experience of recovery from mental illness, mental health crisis including suicidal crisis or caring for someone living with a mental illness, to instil confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Compliance with Public Health Vaccination Orders, including COVID-19 Vaccination
  • 2 years’ experience in mental health practice and a relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in mental health nursing is highly desirable
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Police check – outcomes considered
