About the Role

  • Location: Urgent Mental Health Care Centre - Adelaide CBD
  • Health Professional and Support Services Level 2, $79,925 - $89,410 (Above Award Salary)
  • Part time (.4 -.8FTE specialist night shift) positions available, Maximum Term contract until 30 June 2024 subject to continued Government funding

The Mental Health Clinician is an exciting role responsible for providing high quality services to consumers experiencing mental health crisis presenting to Australia’s first Urgent Mental Health Care Centre.

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will draw on your discipline skills, engage with guests (consumers), other clinicians, the guests treatment team, Neami staff and family/friends/carers to provide high quality assessments and interventions aimed at improving mental health outcomes for guests accessing the UMHCC. The Mental Health Clinician positions will have a strong emphasis on preparing the consumer to transition home. This work will focus on clinical assessment and collaborative care planning.

UMHCC is moving to a 24/7 Rotating Roster therefore your hours of work will be in accordance with a 7 day per week rotating roster which may include a variety of shifts ranging from morning, afternoon, evening, active overnight and recalls depending on service operational requirements.

What will you bring?

  • Previous experience as a mental health clinician with a minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Demonstrated skill in the application of recovery-based approaches in a clinical setting
  • Experience working as a member of a multi- disciplinary team with the ability to inspire and facilitate team commitment and cooperation
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation of reports with recommendations
  • Experience working across a range of Commonwealth and State funded mental health programs and ensuring program implementation in line with funding requirements and contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to form and nurture partnerships with government and non-government mental health, emergency and community service providers

Mandatory requirements

  • Qualified in one of the following disciplines: social work, psychology or occupational therapy
  • Registration with the relevant accreditation body in your field (AHPRA/AASW)
  • Current SA Working with Children Check and Vulnerable Person check
  • Police check (refer to PD) – disclosable outcomes considered
  • Adhere to UMHCC immunisation policy
