  • Health Professional and Support Services Award 2010 Level 2, $83,592 - $93,532 per annum + Salary Packaging
  • 7 Day Rotating Roster as per the operational requirements of the service
  • Location: Urgent Mental Health Care Centre - Adelaide CBD

The Mental Health Clinician is an exciting role responsible for providing high quality services to guests experiencing mental health crisis presenting to Australia’s first Urgent Mental Health Care Centre.

As an Allied Health Professional, the Mental Health Clinician will draw on their discipline skills, engage with the guests (consumer), other clinicians, the guest’s treatment team, Neami staff and family/friends/carers to provide high quality assessments and interventions aimed at improving mental health outcomes for guest s accessing the UMHCC. The Mental Health Clinician will have a strong emphasis on preparing the guest to transition home. This work will focus on clinical assessment and collaborative care planning.

What will you bring to the role

  • Previous experience as an allied health worker
  • Significant clinical experience in an acute, sub-acute or other setting in which crisis care is a core component of service delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with government and non-government health and welfare service providers to pursue practical strategies to improve service delivery to consumers
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including using reflective practice principles
  • Advanced level of clinical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan and coordinate the provision of crisis care
  • Experience in working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team with the ability to inspire and facilitate team commitment and cooperation
  • Knowledge of complex mental health and drug and alcohol issues
  • Knowledge of the recovery model

Mandatory requirements:

Neami National will require, as part of our condition of employment, that all candidates applying for any position must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (or have received two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine and have a scheduled appointment to receive their booster dose.)

Candidates will be required to provide appropriate evidence of COVID-19 vaccination to Neami National.

  • Qualified in one of the following disciplines: social work, psychology or occupational therapy
  • Registration with the relevant accreditation body in your field (AHPRA/AASW) – please refer to PD for more information
  • Current Working with Children Check and Vulnerable Person Check
  • Police check (refer to PD) – disclosable outcomes considered
  • Adhere to UMHCC immunisation policy
