  • Full Time or Part time, Maximum term contract until 30 June 2021 (position may be extended, subject to further funding)
  • Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2010 Level 3 or Nursing Award 2010
  • Level 2. Remuneration will be negotiated dependent on skills, experience and qualifications
  • Regular hours of work 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday -Hours of work can be between 8:00am - 9:00pm
  • Some travel required within catchment area

Requirements of role

Clinical Care-Coordination needs to be provided by the Mental Health Clinician who are skilled and experienced in the area of monitoring risk, managing complex mental health presentations and in providing care-coordination to the client group. They do not necessarily have to have therapeutic skills, but they need to have skills and qualifications commensurate with the services being provided.

Appropriate training and qualifications in an Allied Health discipline (including psychology, social work, occupational therapy, mental health nursing) and registration with the appropriate bodies (e.g. AHPRA as per requirements of Mental Health Clinician), or

those following a non-traditional pathway, a pathway of mixed educational and work-based experience could be acceptable. Minimum requirements are: At least a minimum three (3) year undergraduate degree in Medical or Allied Health discipline

In addition, a minimum of two (2) year’s post graduate experience in the mental health field demonstrating the ability to manage a complex client group.

The Mental Health Clinician (MHC) will work as part of a multidisciplinary mental health team to provide clinical care coordination for individuals with mental health disorders in a primary care setting.
