About the Role

  • Full Time, Maximum term contract until 30 June 2022
  • Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020 Level 2 From $79,925-$89,410 pa, or Nurses Award 2010 Level 2 (Above Award).
  • Location: Cairns/Northern NSW Region/Central Coast/Coffs Harbour

The Head to Health - Information Assessment and Referral Service (HTH IARS) program is available across 8 NSW regions for people of all ages, whether their mental health issues are pre-existing or have emerged during the pandemic.

The HTH IARS provides a central intake service that will endeavour to find the best support for consumers. This may be via referral to an existing service or a local Head to Heath hub.

Core duties

  • Engage consumers and develop trusting and professional relationships
  • Maintain accurate individual consumer files and databases
  • Triage and assessment of mental health referrals
  • Foster and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to ensure good communication flow and clear referral pathways
  • Participate in community engagement activities as directed and promote the mental health and wellbeing of the community

What will you bring to the role?

As a Mental Health Clinical Support Coordinator you will have a background and be registered in your field of Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing and/or Psychology, along with demonstrated experience. Our ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the issues faced by individuals in the region including those identifying from a CALD or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.

Other essential skills and experiences we are looking for include:

  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of local services particularly relevant to designated program area
  • The ability to form and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Be able to work with individuals from diverse and unique backgrounds
  • Be an honest and transparent individual

Mandatory requirements

  • Relevant Clinical qualifications and registrations – Refer to PD
  • Blue Card with Yellow Card Exemption or Blue & Yellow Cards (employee responsibility)
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Drivers licence
  • AUS Police check
