About the Role

  • Part Time & Casual positions available
  • Maximum term contract until 30 June 2022
  • Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020 Level 2 from $79,925-89,410 (above award) + salary packaging or Nurses Award 2010 Level 2 from $84,254-$88,490 (above award) + salary packaging
  • Based at Mackay, Cairns or Townsville
  • Possibility to work from home

The Intake, Assessment and Triage Service is a new Neami service located in Cairns, Townsville and Mackay in partnership with the QPHN. As the Mental Health Clinical Support Coordinator, you will be part of a team of Mental Health Clinicians who provide clinical and risk assessments, care planning and facilitate access to appropriate clinical and community services.

Core duties

  • Engage consumers and develop trusting and professional relationships
  • Maintain accurate individual consumer files and databases
  • Triage and assessment of mental health referrals
  • Foster and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to ensure good communication flow and clear referral pathways
  • Participate in community engagement activities as directed and promote the mental health and wellbeing of the community

What will you bring to the role?

As a Mental Health Clinical Support Coordinator you will have a background and be registered in your field of Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing and/or Psychology, along with demonstrated experience. Our ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the issues faced by individuals in the region including those identifying from a CALD or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.

Other essential skills and experiences we are looking for include:

  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of local services particularly relevant to designated program area
  • The ability to form and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Be able to work with individuals from diverse and unique backgrounds
  • Be an honest and transparent individual

Mandatory requirements:

  • Relevant Clinical qualifications and registrations – Refer to PD
  • Blue Card with Yellow Card Exemption or Blue & Yellow Cards (employee responsibility)
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Drivers licence
  • AUS Police check
