“Full citizenship for all people living with a mental illness in Australian society”
Community Rehabilitation and Support Workers provide a range of rehabilitation and support to consumers, tailored to meet their individual needs. Neami National's work with consumers occurs within their own community of friends, family and neighbourhood. You will work closely with clinical case managers and other community partner organisations to deliver the best possible comprehensive service to consumers.
The Wollongong team delivers the Housing and Support Initiative (HASI) and Together Home programs.
Together Home aims to house people currently sleeping rough or people currently in temporary accommodation that had previously been sleeping rough. Neami's role is to provide participant-centred, wraparound support to these individuals housed through the program. The program presents an opportunity to manage both immediate public health risks and create a lasting change to address street homelessness.
The HASI program offers flexible, community-based support to consumers, so they can better engage with their own psychological recovery journey, enhance physical health and wellbeing and participate in their community of choice. The program also supports people when admitted into hospital to plan transition back to their homes.
Neami National is a community mental health service supporting people living with mental illness to improve their health, live independently and pursue a life based on their own strengths, values and goals.
In our most recent Staff Engagement Survey, 89% of our Staff recommend Neami as a great place to work, with 87% of staff proud to say they work for Neami.
The terms and conditions of the role are listed in the position description below.
