  • Consumer Service Delivery Level 2 from $32.22 - $34.54 p/h plus casual loading
  • Based at The Far West Recovery Centre in Broken Hill

The Far West Recovery Centre (FWRC) is a 10-bed mental health sub-acute facility that provides an option for people who are becoming unwell or are still recovering from an acute illness and need a short period of additional support and consolidation to complement their treatment and support. The FWRC aims to prevent avoidable inpatient admissions. During their stay consumers are assisted to develop a relapse prevention or wellness plan. The FWRC is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Community Rehabilitation and Support Workers provide a range of rehabilitation and support to consumers, tailored to meet their individual needs. Neami National's work with consumers occurs within their own community of friends, family and neighbourhood. Community Rehabilitation and Support Workers at Neami National function within a collaborative team approach and are supported by regular opportunities to reflect upon their practice and access comprehensive training and development.

Core duties

  • Provide direct support to consumers so they gain/maintain independent living skills
  • Together with the consumer regularly monitor their progress towards their identified needs
  • Work to the principles that underpin the Collaborative Recovery Model (CRM) protocols
  • Engage consumers and develop trusting and professional relationships
  • Work closely with clinical case managers in order to deliver the best possible comprehensive service to consumers
  • Work within a holistic strengths-based framework, considering the needs of consumers, family, carers and other members of the community and provide culturally appropriate service responses

What will you bring to the role?

  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a team, to meet program goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of complex mental health and drug and alcohol issues
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a team player
  • Knowledge of the recovery model

Mandatory requirements:

  • Current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Drivers licence
  • Police check (refer to PD) – disclosable outcomes considered
