About the Role

  • Casual Position
  • CSD From $42.59 - $45.67 per hour (includes Casual Loading)
  • Including Sleepover shifts - 21:30 - 08:30

The Far West Recovery Centre (FWRC) is a 10 bed mental health sub-acute facility that provides an option for people who are becoming unwell or are still recovering from an acute illness and need a short period of additional support and consolidation to complement their treatment and support. The FWRC aims to prevent avoidable inpatient admissions. During their stay consumers are assisted to develop a relapse prevention or wellness plan. The FWRC is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. As a Support Worker at Broken Hill, your hours of work will be in accordance with a 7 day per week rotating roster which may include, morning, afternoon, and sleepover shifts.

Core Duties:

  • Provide direct support and rehabilitation to consumers
  • Facilitate engaging groups on life skills
  • Work within a recovery and trauma-based model
  • Maintain records and resources
  • Engage consumers and develop trusting and professional relationships
  • Work within a collaborative team approach

What you will bring to the role:

  • Relevant transferable experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of complex mental health and drug and alcohol issues
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a team
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the recovery model for mental health

  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Drivers licence
  • Police check
  • Covid-19 Vaccination
