  • Part Time 0.8 FTE (Flexible day off!)
  • Maximum Term Contract until 30 June 2022
  • Salary according to Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2010, Level 2. HPSS Salary Structure $77,972 – $87,220 (Paypoint dependant on experience)
  • YFlex – Westfield Plenty Valley, Mill Park

As an Allied Health Clinician you will have a background in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatric Nursing or Psychology. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary recovery-focused team providing high quality support to young consumers of the YFlex program.

At YFlex you will work in close collaboration with the team comprising Service Manager, your Allied Health Worker colleagues, Peer Support Worker and Consultant Psychiatrist. Drawing on your disciplinary skills, you will engage with young consumers and the consumer’s treatment team their family, friends and carers to provide high quality mental health support, assessments and interventions aimed at improving outcomes for young people. You will play an active role in disciplinary knowledge sharing with your Neami colleagues and creating a reciprocal learning environment for staff.

Core duties

  • Promote Neami’s recovery oriented practice. Ensure that a consumer-centred approach is used in the provision of interventions at all stages of a young person’s journey
  • Manage a case load of approximately 12-14 young people
  • Undertake collaborative individual recovery plans, wellness plans, risk management plans with the young person and their supports where appropriate
  • Effectively consider and implement collaborative discharge planning with the young person and their personal and professional supports.
  • Participate in the regular collection of service data and assessments which can then be used to evaluate outcomes and assist with the continuous improvement of the service
  • Ensure incident and critical incident reporting occurs in accordance with guidelines at Neami YFlex.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Relevant experience working within a mental health setting, specific experience working with young people is desirable.
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet program goals and objectives.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the recovery model

Mandatory requirements:

  • AHPRA or AASW Registration and maintenance of registration standards and continuing professional development (CPD)
  • Relevant qualifications including education and training in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatric Nursing or Psychology
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Police check (refer to PD) – disclosable outcomes considered
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Driver’s licence
