Job Description

Job Details:

  • Full-time or part-time, (minimum 3 days per week, 22.6 hours)
  • Fixed-term contract until 30 June 2022

Desired Skills and Experience

About the Position:

The primary purpose of this role is to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders in the disability sector, Government, business community and general public to:

  • Increase the awareness of access and inclusion services
  • Identify opportunities to support the delivery of initiatives in the State Disability Strategy
  • Represent NDS in WA at consultative and community based events relating to access and inclusion services
  • Identify opportunities for additional access and inclusion services that NDS in WA could support for people with disability

It is expected that the position holder is aligned to, and demonstrates NDS’s values of respectteamwork and collaborationleadershipinnovation and accountability at all times.

About You:

  • Lived experience of NDS access and inclusion services (ACROD Parking permit holder and / or Companion Card holder)
  • Demonstrated skills in community engagement, public relations and / or communications, preferably in the social services area;
  • High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite)
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently to achieve program objectives with demonstrated attention to detail and a strong focus on quality output
  • Independent travel capability
  • Flexibility in terms of working hours and location/s
