About the role

Northside now has a fantastic opportunity for a Social Inclusion Coordinator to join their team in Canberra on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Senior Manager (Aged Care and Inclusion), you will be providing facilitating and further developing Northside’s social groups and provide opportunities for people over the age of 65 years or differently abled in our community to participate in either individual and/or group activities.

Your key responsibilities and duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Deliver a streamlined introduction process for the intake and onboarding of new clients in accordance with client directed care (CDC) principles.
  • Facilitate and deliver social inclusion activities tailored to individual client needs, using a person-centred approach.
  • Work to provide the community with opportunities to co-design and develop social activities, in both group and individual support contexts.
  • Plan, deliver, evaluate and continuously improve the social inclusion programs in line with Aged Care Quality Standards.
  • Organise events, forums and activations that support the development of inclusive and strong communities, in collaboration with other teams in the organisation.

About You

To be considered for this position you will hold a Bachelor degree (or equivalent) with relevant experience in Aged Care, Community Services or a similar field.

In a client centred model of practice, you will have skills and experience in coordinating individual and group social inclusion activities.

A confident and effective communicator, you will have well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Highly organised with a strong client focus, you will have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, or independently.

Although not essential, any experience in a not-for-profit environment or with a community/children's service related organisation would be highly regarded.

Northside is offering an attractive base salary circa $82,774 - $86,529 plus super, negotiable based on your skills and experience.
