About the role

Northsidenow has a fantastic opportunity for a Facilities Coordinator to join their team in Canberra on a full-time, permanent basis.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you need to ensure the day to day smooth operation of all buildings and facilities including vehicles, furniture, and other related materials are usable, accessible and safe for Northside staff, children, clients and visitors.

Your key responsibilities and duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Identify and manage operation and maintenance requirements to ensure all maintenance is carried out promptly on time and in line with appropriate standards and legislation.
  • Support a safe and well-functioning workplace environment for the employees, children, clients and visitors of all Northside premises and facilities.
  • Assist with facilities procedures and protocols about Health and Safety, emergency management, site security and waste management including conducting regular premises audits.
  • Manage a small fleet of vehicles including the coordination of repairs, maintenance, acquisition and disposal.

About You

To be considered for this position you will have a relevant tertiary qualification in facilities management, property management, trade qualification or similar field with relevant experience (minimum 3 years).

You’ll be a collaborative team player who adopts a hands-on approach to problem-solving and can prioritize and juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic workplace. You think on-the-go and can collaborate with multiple stakeholders with ease.

As an experienced Facilities Coordinator, you will have knowledge of all building trades and a common-sense approach to a range of maintenance issues.

As a highly organised individual, you will have a professional, ethical and mature approach to work and experience in computer administration, including MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

You will also have an understanding of Work Health and Safety and other relevant legislation.

Although not essential, any experience in a not-for-profit environment or with a community/children's service-related organisation would be highly regarded.

Northside is offering an attractive hourly rate $36.62 - $39.40 per hour plus super and salary packaging available!
