The Nature Conservation Council of NSW is the state’s peak conservation organisation, representing more than 160 groups and hundreds of thousands of people who share our vision of an ecologically sustainable society and a safe climate.
Through our work in conservation education, political advocacy, campaigning and community organising, we have been the voice for nature in NSW for more than 65 years.
We campaign on a broad portfolio of issues, but at the moment we are focussing on:
We also work on bushfire ecology and ecosystem management, delivering education and training programs to landholders and providing expert bushfire policy and management advice to local and state statutory bodies.
The Communications Manager will work closely with all our teams — Campaigns, Organising, Healthy Ecosystems, Fundraising and the Chief Executive’s team — to lift our communications program to the next level and help us achieve our ambitious growth targets.
The Communications Manager will manage our communications program in collaboration with the Campaigns, Organising, Healthy Ecosystems, Fundraising and Executive Services teams.
You will provide leadership in the development of strategies, plans, policies and procedures to ensure our messages are well honed for target audiences and delivered through the appropriate channels for maximum impact.
While the Communications Manager must have excellent strategic and organisational skills, they also require solid hands-on skills as a writer and digital communications practitioner.
Please note that this is not a media management position. The position is based at our offices in Chippendale, but we also have very flexible working arrangements.
