The National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) is an independent, non-profit, medical research organisation recognised internationally as a centre of excellence in gerontology and geriatrics research. The Institute provides clinical, psycho-social, health services and public health research specifically focused on older people and also has a major emphasis on translational research. Our vision is a world where older people are respected, healthy and included. The Institute has four program areas - Clinical Gerontology, Social Gerontology, Aged Care, and the Melbourne Ageing Research Collaboration (MARC).
We are seeking a Project Manager (Research Fellow B) based within the Social Gerontology Division of the Institute, to work on the Drawing Out Care project. This project, funded by the Medical Research Future Fund, aims to improve the lives of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) family carers and people living with dementia using animations, digital fact sheets, and a multilingual chat-bot – The Draw-Care Intervention. Using co-production and randomised clinical trial methods, the study will evaluate the clinical and cost effectiveness of Draw-Care in reducing family carer's burden and improving their mood and quality of life, and the quality of life of the person living with dementia.
The successful applicant will have a PhD in a relevant discipline.
Please see the position description for a full list of responsibilities and selection criteria.
