Case Worker - Darwin / Katherine

Due to an expansion of NAAFLS service delivery areas, we have a vacancies for experienced and enthusiastic Case Workers to join our Support Teams in the Darwin and Katherine Offices.

The Case Worker will work collaboratively with NAAFLS solicitors to develop and implement case plans with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients, including assisting to help clients set and achieve their goals, while identifying evidence that will be meaningful in associated legal cases. Relevant experience in delivering case work services in an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community services environment is required. The ability to provide an accessible and culturally sensitive legal service, and to understand the needs of culturally diverse client is essential. These positions are office based however applicants may need to undertake occasional overnight travel to remote communities as required.

It is a requirement that prior to commencing in any of these roles, you must possess an Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory driver’s licence or the ability to obtain one.

These positions are identified for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and is intended to constitute a special measure under section 8 (1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth), and section 57 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1996 (NT).
