Occupational therapists will work closely with NDIS participants with disability, families/carers and support workers to deliver quality, person centred, and goal focussed outcomes in an efficient and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy assessment, intervention and evaluations
  • Undertake Functional Capacity Assessments;
  • Develop appropriate reports identifying participant's needs, assistive technology (including complex AT) needs and home modification requirements (simple and complex);
  • Work closely with other Business Units to effectively deliver participants needs;
  • In collaboration with the Manager, Therapy Services contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and policies within the Therapy Services Team.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary Qualification in Occupational Therapy and registered with AHPRA to practice in Australia
  • Demonstrated relevant clinical experience and knowledge and advanced skills in assessment, treatment, and evaluation within the clinical specialty area.
  • Demonstrated time management, administrative and organisational skills when planning, providing and monitoring Occupational Therapy services within a designated caseload.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with people with disability, psychosocial disability, families, and carers.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing and evaluating functional needs of clients
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development in the area of Occupational Therapy.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in working in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of NDIS and Aged Care services
  • Knowledge and understanding of hospital, community, and home care allied health services.
