Myeloma Australia (MA) is the only myeloma specific not-for-profit organisation in the country. We exist to support, inform, empower and bring hope to people living with myeloma, their families, carers, friends and health professionals through our nurse-led model of care.
The organisation was formed in 1998 by a small number of driven people who discovered that a myeloma diagnosis was often slow and uncertain, and that reliable information and access to support was scarce. Today the organisation works to improve the lives of those living with myeloma through raising community awareness, facilitating research, education, support, and advocacy.
MA is determined to raise community awareness of myeloma, and to improve access to the latest treatments, enabling those affected by myeloma to take control of their condition proactively with their health care professionals.
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will be responsible for implementing the mission and vision of the organisation and for outworking MA’s strategic plan. The CEO will lead a team responsible for delivering on the key strategic areas - support services, nursing services, fundraising and advocacy.
The CEO will have responsibility for the overall performance of MA and will work with all stakeholders to ensure that MA delivers on its strategy. The CEO will work closely with the Board to ensure the Board are informed of all events and circumstances which have, or may be likely to have, a material impact on the organisation.
