MyCareSpace is a free community service supporting people living with a disability all around Australia. We do this by creating easy to read resources that help people understand their NDIS funding and by connecting people with disability supports in their local area that meet their individual needs.

About the role

Our growing team is looking for a talented content writer with a lived experience of the NDIS to work closely with our management team. Your role will be to produce incredibly important and very necessary resources around various NDIS topics that are confusing and mystifying (that's pretty much all topics!).

You’ll be joining a team of dedicated, energetic people who are motivated by our purpose: to give every Australian living with a disability access to the information and support they need to increase their independence and achieve their life goals.

Your contribution will be exponential as more than 1,200 people are reading the resources on our website every day. By sharing your knowledge and experience you could impact 45,000 people every month.

With our combined experience and your writing talent, MyCareSpace will continue its path to our goal of supporting 1 million people living with a disability and their families by 2025.

Role location and type

This role is part-time and flexible to start, with a view to becoming more permanent as we grow. MyCareSpace is based in Sydney, but the role can be performed remotely with the option to come into the office 1 day a week if applicable.

Experience and knowledge

• Preference will be given to applicants with a disability
• You’ll have a lived experience of the NDIS
• You may have a disability or care for someone with a disability
• You’ll have a solid understanding of the NDIS and the challenges that people face when they are part of the scheme
• You need not be a wordsmith, but you must be able to create succinct, easy to understand information that answers the questions people ask!
• You are willing to learn to use our website (very easy) to publish resources
