Qualified Co-Educator, Baya Gawiy Early Childhood Learning Unit - Fitzroy Crossing

Marninwarntikura Fitzroy Women's Resource Centre

This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative and dynamic early childhood professional looking for meaningful work within an Aboriginal Organisation that has an integrated approach of wellbeing, quality education and care for the children.

Our unique program, co-designed by educators, meets the needs and wellbeing of the children and their families in our community, and guides everything that happens in our day. Our strong commitment to the rights of the child, social justice, equity and respectful relationships as well as the theories of two-way practice, support us to create meaningful programs, beautiful environments, and appropriate education and care.

Wellbeing is at the heart of all that we do at Baya Gawiy. It is a place where children, families and staff feel welcome and comfortable, a place where they belong. We create environments that nurture the wellbeing of children their families and staff. As educators, we welcome our families each day by being present in body, mind and spirit, well prepared and receptive to all that they ring.

The Baya Gawiy Buga yani Jandu yani u Centre is operated by Marninwarntikura Fitzroy Women's Resource Centre. Marninwarntikura is a healing-informed and trauma-aware organisation. This means that we understand that the women and families who use our services, as well as many of our team members, have experienced intergenerational and early life trauma. For some of us, trauma is a daily part of our lives. We know that continuing to deepen our expertise in healing, and ways of working that are trauma-informed, is a life-long individual and organisational journey. We embed new learnings and approaches across our workplace to enable healing responses and self-care. Our Core Values describe what is important to us. They underpin our Guiding Principles which shape the decisions we make, and they drive our Shared Behaviours which guide the way that we work. This is the scaffolding which helps us to strengthen our organisational culture and work practice.
